  1. Short:    EGS-TV VLab framegrabber soft for EGS graphics cards (V2.9d)

  6. EGS-TV             The shareware VLab software for EGS graphic boards
  7. ======
  8.  
  9. This is the full version of EGS-TV V2.9d, the shareware VLab-software for
  10. EGS graphic boards. To use this as full version you need a keyfile, which
  11. can only be obtained by registering directly by me. Without keyfile
  12. EGS-TV has some restrictions.
  13.  
  14. To run this program you need an EGS-Graphics board with EGS version 6.0
  15. or higher, OS2.04 or higher, a VLab-framegrabber card with installed
  16. vlab.library version 6 or higher (or alternative a VLab-Parallelport
  17. with installed vlab.library version 7 or higher) and at least 1.5 MByte
  18. free RAM (Fast-RAM).
  19.  
  20. The registration fee for EGS-TV Professional, which will appear in
  21. September 1994, is currently 30US$ for users outside of europe and 40DM
  22. for users in europe. Alternatively you can still register the classical
  23. version of EGS-TV (20US$ or 25DM) (see documentation for differences).
  24.  
  25. EGS-TV has the following features (even without keyfile):
  26.  
  27. * Monitor window in upto 64000 colors in size 360*310 (PAL), 360*260 (NTSC),
  28.   180*155 (PAL) or 180*130 (NTSC) with surprisingly fast update rates.
  29.  
  30. * Unlimited number of Preview windows in greyscale or color for multiple grabs
  31.   of halfframes, HiRes-halfframes and fullframes. The big grabs can be viewed
  32.   in fullsize-Previewwindows or downscaled to LoRes. This allows you to grab
  33.   multiple frames and compare them to decide, which is the best to use and
  34.   transfer.
  35.  
  36. * Unlimited number of sequence windows with unlimited number of frames in
  37.   any sequence (currently limited only by memory). Every sequence has it's
  38.   own preview window, where the current frame is shown or the sequence
  39.   can be played as animation forwards and backwards. You can delete or
  40.   regrab single frames and move through the sequence frame by frame
  41.   forward and backward. Editing functions for insert and assemble
  42.   recordings are also implemented. All Theese features can be controled
  43.   with a comfortable sequence control panel (similair to VTRs). You can
  44.   even combine new foreground signals into existing sequences with
  45.   the amazing Blue Screen Keying (Chroma Keying).
  46.   For the professional version similair features are planned for hard-
  47.   disk recording, to become independent of the main memory size.
  48.  
  49. * Flexible Chroma Keying with realtime Blue Screen effect by using quasi
  50.   two VLab inputs concurrently. Chroma color (or range) can be configured
  51.   freely. this feature is usable for monitor, single grabs and even sequences.
  52.   You can combine any number of new foreground signals with an existing
  53.   background sequence. This offers many stunning trick technics.
  54.  
  55. * Color intensity can be changed for monitor (realtime recoloring),
  56.   previews and final pictures. More options will probably be integrated,
  57.   if enough users register.
  58.  
  59. * Flexible Deinterlace-function with differnt modes and strengths. This
  60.   includes an Undo-Feature to try different paramters on a fullframe picture.
  61.  
  62. * Grab-Area can be selected by mouse or numerically.
  63.  
  64. * Runs on it's own screen in size of the EGS-Default screen with 24Bit
  65.   (if possible) or with the color depth of your Default screen.
  66.  
  67. * supports PAL and NTSC Video sources.
  68.  
  69. * supports upto 6 video inputs, which might be distributed over several
  70.   VLab boards.
  71.  
  72. * supports TimeBaseCorrection for Video tape recorders.
  73.  
  74. * english and german versions of EGS-TV.
  75.  
  76. * extensive documentation in Amiga-Guide format (in english and in german).

  78. Registered users get the following additional features with their keyfiles:
  79.  
  80. * Saving and loading of settings (Database of settings for different video
  81.   sources)
  82.  
  83. * Saving of preferences for program start options
  84.  
  85. * runs with any screenmode or directly on the EGS-DefaultScreen (to be shared
  86.   with other EGS-applications)
  87.  
  88. * can even "jump" to any EGS-Screen which is already opened, for improved
  89.   comfort when using EGS-TV with another program.
  90.  
  91. * Saves grabbed frames to Clipboard or to file and transfers them automatically
  92.   to other applications via ARexx-commands or by fast direct-ports. Transfer
  93.   operations can be customized by the user to make EGS-TV communicate with
  94.   any ARexx-capable application.
  95.   Currently supported file types: IFF (compressed and uncompressed), YUV, DEEP,
  96.   PPM, QRT and Targa.

  98. * Fast direct transfer to PicoPainter (as Picture or as Brush)
  99.  
  100. * Sequences can be saved and loaded in a special YUV-like file format.
  101.  
  102. * All pictures of a sequence can be exported automatically in one of the
  103.   supported file formats (IFF,YUV,DEEP,PPM,QRT,Targa).

  105. Please read the documentation for exact modalities to register and for
  106. information on using EGS-TV.

  108. A registrationform and a softwareimprovementform (for bug reports and
  109. suggestions) is supplied in this archiv (please print them with 12CPI
  110. and a left margin of 8).

  113.  
  114. A separate player program for EGS-TV sequences is now available.
  115. It plays sequences direct from harddrive and is independent of VLab
  116. and vlab.library, so that any EGS-User can use it.
  117. You can find EGS-TV-Player in a separate archiv named
  118. "egstvplayerxx.lha" where xx is the version number.
  119. An interesting demo sequence is included in that archiv.

  121. Disclaimer

  124. I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked
  125. with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration.
  126. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas,
  127. EGS-Systems, VLab-Versions, I can not guarantee that this software
  128. will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System
  129. does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases
  130. where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or
  131. explained them in the documentation.

  134. comes with no warranty, either expressed or implied.

  136. occur due to direct or indirect usage of this software. You use

  150. The demo version of EGS-TV may be freely distributed as long as the
  151. following conditions are met:
  152.  
  153. 1) All files have to be kept together
  154.  
  155. 2) No file may be modified or crunched/packed.
  156.  
  157.    The only official way to distribute EGS-TV demo packed is the original
  158.    egstv.lha or egstv.lzh-archive.
  159.  
  160.    EGS-TV may not be disassembled or analysed. The limitations integrated
  161.    in the demo version may under no circumstance be removed or bypassed.
  162.  
  163. 3) Distributors may only charge for the duplication process (including media)
  164.    and not for the software. Theese charges may not exceed the following
  165.    limits: a) EGS-TV demo on a PD-disk: 8$ (US-dollar) including
  166.               postage&packing (in Germany: 12DM)
  167.        b) EGS-TV demo on a PD-CD-ROM: 50$ (US-dollar) including
  168.               postage&packing (in Germany: 75DM)
  169.        c) EGS-TV demo on a BBS/Mailbox/ftp-site or other electronically
  170.               callable system: Maximum charge 4$ (US-dollar) (in Germany: 6DM)
  171.               for downloading
  172.    Anyway, it must be made explictly clear to the buyer, that he does not
  173.    pay for the program (demo) itself but only for the duplication service.

  175. 4) It is not allowed to distribute EGS-TV with any commercial product without
  176.    a written permission by me. One exception is the distribution of the demo
  177.    version with products, not exceeding the above price limits (e.g. a cover-
  178.    disk magazine for 8$ or less).

  180.    If you want to distribute EGS-TV demo with your commercial product
  181.    (hardware or software) write to me for details.

  183.    If you want your software product to be capable of working directly with
  184.    EGS-TV you can also contact me (address as above).

  186. 5) The registered version may not be redistributed. It may only run on one
  187.    machine per registration. It is allowed to make a backup copy of the
  188.    original disk.
